Materials & Care

Materials

Care

When washing, use a gentle cycle, with COOL water. If your washing machine does not have a COOL setting, use the COLD setting. Close all zippers and make sure pockets are empty.

We recommend using a free and clear detergent or a detergent specifically designed for technical garments. Traditional detergents, particularly powdered detergents can leave residues that can negatively affect the performance of your garment. Avoid all products with fabric softeners or bleach. Grangers Performance Wash is a great option.

Avoid excessive heat. Seam tape can fall apart in a dryer, and it is not a pretty sight. Excessive heat (even a car dashboard in the summer) can also cause multi-layered waterproof fabrics to delaminate.

Love these sturdy, solidly waterproof pants for my rainy commute in Eugene, OR. The reinforced butt, articulated knees, reflector ankle straps, and so many other details make these superior to any other biking rain pant I've owned.

They passed the test with flying colors. 3 hours in 42° rain.

Such an upgrade from my previous other-brand elastic waist rain pants that I wore to death. Love the reflective details and the pockets, hope the reinforced seat will make these last a bit, and the length is long enough to cover the top of my shoes so I can ride safely and also keep my feet dry. True to size. Very comfortable and warm to ride in without being bulky or overly noisy. looking forward to upping my “gross weather” rides this year!

Upgraded to these as a gift to my wife from a pair of the Showers Pass transit pants. The fit is great on her and also on me as a Male (not sure what is different in the cut between the men's and women's version). The reflective detailing is great and we really appreciate the zipper and snap for the waistband along with the elastic which makes them easier to get on and off. Also, the grippy material around the saddle area is appreciated for riding.

These are very well made with some nice design features. Unfortunately they are about a foot too long for me and I cannot imagine cycling in them safely.

They are huge and Long. Waist is larger than will stay up. will deffinately need suspenders. Tried to exchange for smaller size and sold out. They have wonderful added seat reinforcement. However, they do not come up high in the back for when you are seated/riding.

These pants are fantastic, I love the reinforced seat. Only note regarding the sizing: while the fit is correct, the waist cuts a too low on the front, and somewhat too low on the back. I would assume that these were probably just sized up based on a smaller body type, and not patterned based on the body of someone like myself who would wear a 3XL, as it doesn't seem like it accounts for a larger tummy. Since I'm just wearing them as a protective cover over my regular pants, it doesn't matter very much, but I could not wear them as just pants without a significant amount of my underwear on display. Otherwise, these are roomy in the legs, comfortable, able to fit even over my bulkiest pair of jeans. Love the reflective strips and vent zippers. I've been wearing them every day since receiving.

Fit perfectly.

Belle coupe
Facile à mettre en place
Dommage que les bretelles ne sont pas incluses car elles sont nécessaires

I love the details of this pant but the waist from this company is always so small! And the length is ridiculously long. Unfortunately I bought it on sale so I have to keep them. For reference I always wear large pants and the length is never a problem.

I have previously purchased and used the Women's Transit Pant, Trailhead Hoodie, and Men's Elite 2.1 Jacket. This time, I ordered the Women's Refuge Pant. I bike commute to work daily (15 miles/day), and the Transit Pants fit well and held up for ~4 years, working well for wind and rain protection. The Refuge Pants also fit well so far, and the additional features are nice - zip vents, pocket, suspender option, reinforced seat (Transit Pants wore out in the seat first). Altogether, the Showers Pass gear does its best given the inherent compromises between fabric weight, cost, and water resistance. If I find something with similar fit but higher durability, I'll be tempted to switch, but for many people this gear is the right choice.

Women's Refuge Pant Black is fantastic. They came right in time for the Pacific West Coast atmospheric river. I stay dry and I was not overheated. The waterproof-breathable hardshell fabric is incredible. It is light and breathable. The additional details of the thigh vent, the pocket, the reflective straps and the better quality zippers also make this worthwhile.

The material is loud so you won't be sneaking up on anyone wearing this but if you can be dry, it's a good trade off.

Also, the customer service for this was also great. Shari was extremely helpful with my order.

Way big for me, though well made.
I returned for a smaller size, though am concerned that the length is the same.

Unable to keep these due to the length. I just can't justify pants at this price that don't come in different lengths

Plusses - They're long enough (I'm 5'10") and fairly flexible.
Minus - they're NOISY!! Constant crinkling/crackling noise. Very irritating. Have not yet had a chance to try them in the rain.

Great rain pants. I particularly like the covering where the butt sits on the seat of the bike.
