Materials & Care

Care

When washing, use a gentle cycle, with COOL water. If your washing machine does not have a COOL setting, use the COLD setting. Close all zippers and make sure pockets are empty.

We recommend using a free and clear detergent or a detergent specifically designed for technical garments. Traditional detergents, particularly powdered detergents can leave residues that can negatively affect the performance of your garment. Avoid all products with fabric softeners or bleach. Grangers Performance Wash is a great option.

Avoid excessive heat. Seam tape can fall apart in a dryer, and it is not a pretty sight. Excessive heat (even a car dashboard in the summer) can also cause multi-layered waterproof fabrics to delaminate.

I'm a NW cyclist and think Showers Pass makes the best rain gear. Got this rain jacket for my son who commutes daily on his bike outside of Portland. He's delighted knowing he'll be warm, dry and visible to cars.

I purchased my 1st Transit Jacket over 6 years ago and while it is still going strong. Aside the few bumps and bruises it has suffered, thanks to my over the bar crashes, it still does the job of keeping me dry and warm.
However, the current sale price and bonus offer, on selected Shower’s Pass apparel items, including their Transit Jacket, motivated me to order 2 additional jackets, one black and one blue. The jacket is very well made, stands up incredibly well to aggressive riding and all Mother Nature can throw at it.
However, because it is NOT lined, in colder weather you must adopt smart layering advice to stay warm and comfortable.
I love the use of reflective tape on the jacket to increase its visibility at night.
Overall, it is a very well made product and I have no hesitation recommending it, especially at the current inventory clearance price!

Roomy! But it doesn’t get in the way. Pretty bomber material. A little heavier than lightweight - think ski jacket shell. Kept me dry over a rainy 30 miles.

The jacket is comfortable and for those slightly wet early morning commutes, it does the job. I only wish it had a rear pocket for incidentals like keys and wallet. The fit is on point and allows for some wiggle room when an extra layer is needed

The jacket looks to be well constructed with quality materials. So far have only used once in light rain, all good. The jacket is also comfortable and not too baggy, and very reflective.

There’s room to move in this jacket in ways that don’t make it feel baggy. It doesn’t get in its own way. I suspect it might be over large for some, but it’s true to the measured sizes described.

Shell feels a lot tougher than your average rain jacket. It’s a little heavier than some, but I like that feel.

The European zipper slows me down a little, but no problem, really.

I like the visibility of the bright yellow, but with all the dandy reflective material, I almost regret not going with the blue.

Caught in a downpour my first day out with it immediately proved it’s waterproof. I’ll be interested to see how that goes after a year.

I’m impressed.

Very happy with the Transit jacket, my second from Showers Pass, the old 1 being a Syncline. I have only had it for 2 weeks & worn it a few times, only once in the rain. My first observation is that the material is stiffer which makes it slightly harder to pack but it feels drier. I also think the Transit has better ventilation.

Had the original from about 10 yrs ago. Love it but it was torn in a snow bike crash. Great jacket for cold wet/snow riding

Love this jacket, but I was suprized to find that the zipper slide was left side, not on the right like every other jacket zipper I have used all my life.
