Introducing: Enjoy All Elements
“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you, and the storms their energy, while cares will drop away from you like the leaves of Autumn.” John Muir
There’s growing support for the claim that more time outside leads to more happiness. “People who spent two hours a week in green spaces were substantially more likely to report good health and psychological well-being than those who don’t,” one study reports. That’s after only two hours. Imagine how great we’d all feel if we got more than two hours in nature?
What’s keeping people from maximizing their time outside? We already target one challenge: weather. Over the last 25 odd years, it's been our mission to get more people outside more often. To date, we’ve mostly focused on innovating waterproof, breathable solutions for all kinds of weather.
But weather is only one barrier.
Today, we’re proud to announce the launch of our Enjoy All Elements program, along with our partnership with Outdoors Empowered Network. Outdoors Empowered Network is a national network of community-led, youth-centered outdoor education groups that are dedicated to increasing access and diversity in the outdoors through gear libraries and outdoor leadership training. We’re taking the first steps towards an ambitious goal of accumulating 175 million hours spent outside by 2031, and through our partnership, expanding access and removing barriers to the outdoors along the way.
The Enjoy All Elements Challenge is a call to action to push past your discomfort, to challenge what you think is possible outside in all types of weather. Enjoy All Elements challenges you to spend more time outside, and to encourage everyone else to do the same. And as you increase your hours, we’ll increase our support to Outdoors Empowered Network and membership organizations.
There are multiple ways to rise to the challenge, participate, and make a difference. We hope you’ll learn more and join in at our new website: EnjoyAllElements.com.
More time outside means more human happiness and a deeper connection to nature.
