Introducing: Cross Point Gear
Showers Pass is proud to introduce Cross Point Gear!
Cross Point Gear is part of our our collection of waterproof accessories. Cross Point Gear’s mission is to build cutting-edge waterproof accessories that help you expand your comfort zone in the outdoors.
It all started with socks. We developed our waterproof socks with a three-layer construction that features an abrasion-resistant outer, waterproof-breathable membrane, and a comfortable moisture-wicking inner lining.
Why use waterproof socks?
Waterproof socks provide many benefits that our customers fall in love with. Here are a few of the most common:
-
Warmth - Waterproof socks are warmer than non-waterproof socks. Keeping dry is a big factor in staying warm, but the membrane in our socks also blocks wind.
-
Blister Prevention - Wet skin is more prone to blistering than dry skin. In addition to keeping skin dry, many of our waterproof sock styles, including Mountain and Sport socks, also feature additional terry-loop cushioning in key areas to help wick sweat and moisture. Even our uncushioned Superlight and Classic styles use wicking materials like Coolmax and merino wool.
-
Footwear Freedom - Let’s be real, your favourite or most comfortable pair of shoes probably isn’t waterproof. Waterproof socks can help make your favourite shoes more versatile so they can take you further.
Our waterproof socks have been a hit partly thanks to our proprietary 3D lamination process. Our special manufacturing method creates a thinner waterproof-breathable membrane than the competition, which makes for a stretchier sock that breathes better.
After the success of our waterproof socks, we knew we needed to adapt the 3D lamination process to other products. We were confident that gloves made in the same fashion as our socks would be a hit. Fingers and thumbs turned out to be a bit more complicated than socks, but in 2018, we launched our waterproof knit gloves. They quickly became our most popular style, and for good reason!
Waterproof Knit Gloves - What People Love:
- Dexterity - The stretchy knit design fits close to the hand and moves with you, making them great for activities where precision matters.
- 3 Season Warmth - while thin, our knit gloves block wind chill, making them great for the cool, damp weather that characterizes much of the year here in Oregon. While they excel in mild temps, they also perform great for more vigorous activities in cold temperatures, whether that’s hiking, running, cross-country skiing or just shovelling snow in the driveway. The knit gloves can even be worn under bulkier gloves or mittens for ultimate protection in extreme conditions.
- Device Friendly - Conductive yarn at the tip of the index finger and thumb allows for easy operation of smart devices including phones and watches.
After launching our gloves, you could say the success went to our heads. That’s right, we introduced beanies. Made with heavier yarn these caps offer tons of warmth and protection from the elements. They provide extra protection when paired with traditional outerwear, but also excel in situations where hoods and brimmed hats have drawbacks such as windy conditions, or scenarios where an unobstructed field of view is critical.
